José Darío Perea Ospina
José Darío is a Scientist-entrepreneur with expertise in different interconnected areas of emerging solarenergy technologies, applied machine learning for material discovery and self-driving labs, STEM education, and experiments in outer space. With 15+ years of professional experience in prominent research and development groups in Germany, United States,and Canada. Such as Harvard University, MIT, University of Toronto, where he has been a full-time researcher, and the Friedrich Alexander University (Germany), where he earned his doctorate in emerging solar cells and solar technology devices.
His scientific development is demonstrated through his multiple 40+ articles and book chapters inprestigious scientific journals like Nature and Science, to name a few, with an excellent scientific and social impact factor. He has worked on solar energy experiments in near-outer space and simulated environments through the Cubes in Space program at various NASA facilities and is an analog astronaut in training with the European Space Agency (ESA), highlighting his passion for space exploration and his dedication to driving scientific and technological development.
He has also been a keynote speaker on scientific, social, and industrial topics at events such as TEDx talk, SingularityU, CampusParty, and a governmental advisor on technological transfer.
He currently has a couple of startups, one of emerging solar energy and industrial developments called Solestructuras and Oropesa.
