Dr. Ernesto Martinez brings over 15 years of expertise in innovation and entrepreneurship. Most recently, he served as Head of Corporate Development & Innovation at MassChallenge, one of the top global startup accelerators, where he drove corporate innovation strategies and forged high-impact partnerships across critical segments including Healthcare, Sustainability and Financial services. Before MassChallenge, Ernesto led growth strategy as Senior Director for PTC’s augmented reality (AR) software business, helping enterprises leverage emerging technologies to drive innovation and deliver transformative value to millions.

Earlier in his career, Ernesto held leadership roles at Kopin Corporation, where he worked under its CEO and led the launch of the company’s first AR consumer device. His pioneering efforts led to collaborations with organizations like the U.S. Olympic Committee and Team USA, delivering cutting-edge technology to elite athletes.

Dr. Martinez holds a Master’s and Ph.D. from MIT’s Media Lab in Biomechatronics and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard’s Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering. As a recognized leader in human augmentation, he has developed advanced bionic systems and AI technologies that improve human capabilities. He is the author of multiple publications and holds international patents.
